Casting copper

From Mondays to Fridays at 15.00 during the period 02.07 – 03.08 we cast copper bars or ingots. The souvenir ingots are miniature copies of the original ingots produced by The Røros Copper Works.

The equipment used, and the size of the ingots in today’s process, are entirely different from when the Copper Works was in production, but it is an interesting experience to see the ladle containing molten copper being taken out of the furnace and poured into the moulds.
